COOPER MUSEUM, Upland, CA

This 5 ft x 8ft Mural depicts Cable Airport, also also located in Upland (www.cableairport.com) , during its construction in 1945, By Dewey and Maude Cable.

Our Aviation Legacy

This indoor mural (above), 6 feet x 15 feet, commemorates those images, poignant and powerful, that remember the tremendous influence of aviation in our military history, the fellowship of brothers-in-arms and the memory of girls they left at home. As we also paint aircraft nose art, we enjoy researching accurate aviation history images that can build a story, record a moment, or maybe leave us to ponder the possibilities of the vast blue sky.

What do you get that aviation nut child who already has every aircraft model, video game and die-cast toy you can think of? Why not a airplane on the ceiling? This P-40 Warhawk drops out of the sky -(and will have an authentic shark's teeth nose and prop blades once the fan goes in...) and makes a perfect gazing point for daydreaming....

Pre-School Playground, before and after

You don't need to re-construct a play yard to improve it's looks. A mural can immediately provide color, visual interest and create an inviting play space. The mural below, at a local church, is 10 ft x 75 ft wide, depicting children at play. The door overhang is incorporated into the design as a cozy treehouse, perfect for reading a good story.

Ginger's Quilt Shoppe, 'SunBonnet Girls'

Ginger's Quilt Shoppe, the newest quilt store in Southern California, has integrated a quilting theme throughout it's faciliites - even the bathroom! Here the cheerful 'Sunbonnet Girls' quilt pattern is incorporated into a design motif for bathroom walls.

Whimsical Bluegrass Band

These fine fellows of the local Stoney Creek band are enjoying a jam on a private home patio wall. Life sized ( 4ft x 7ft total) figures painted on primered latex surface make mighty good music together, you can almost hear the Orange Blossom Special winding up!

Dining Room View

This dining room wall was first painted in muted goldenrod satin latex, then glazed with transluscent amber color, and rolled off. Then the mural image was applied. The design is a modification of a scene depicted on a local vintage orange crate label.

MURAL PRICE QUOTE PROCESS

As each wall space is unique, we cannot give good price estimates without first seeing the wall area to be painted. Prices are generally based on complexity of the design, the size of the mural, and the type of surface to be painted. Of course, the smaller the size, the lower the cost. Design complexity is a result of how many objects are in the mural, and if they need to be rendered in shades instead of flat colors. If the surface is rough, it takes longer to paint so will increase final cost. Below are sample costs of typical murals in various sizes.

First we'd want to set up some time with you to see the site and discuss your ideas for color, scenery, images sizes, etc.. Following our discussion and site review, we will provide you a written estimate of the work and all reasonable costs within 5 days. The estimate includes a color study of the proposed artwork and alternative designs, as needed.

After we review and agree on the design studies, we provide an agreement for signature that outlines deposit requirements and a project schedule. 40% of mural cost is due upon review of color designs. Remainder is due at completion of the artwork.

MURAL PRICING

General estimates can be calculated by square footage of the final design, or by the time estimate to complete the project. Interior themes incorporating several rooms receive a 25% discount per square foot.

Exterior murals are usually higher in price, to accomodate use of specialized equipment, such as electric lifts, and preparation and painting of rougher surfaces.

MURAL SCHEDULING

Murals can be completed in a day or over several days, depending on the size, complexity and amount of surface preparation required. Acrylics dry quickly (within 1-3 hours in temperatures above 50 degrees farenheit), so drying time is not a hindrance to meeting scheduled deliverables. April and October tend to be our busy seasons, so we work to schedule projects as soon as we know about them, to hold dates down. Should you need project dates to slip, adequate notice will allow us to move our schedule around.

Mindrum Mural -Cucamonga Yesterday, Tommorrow

Mindrum Mural at Mindrum Precision, 10,000 4th St Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Mindrum Precision Manufacturing is celebrating 50 years of continuous business in the Cucamonga Valley. Their celebration included the commission of this 9 x 50 foot work that commemorates the rich history of the valley while looking to a prosperous future. On the left are historical structures still standing in and around the Rancho Cucamonga valley - the 'Wigwam Hotel', the old Richfield gasoline station, and even the studio building where musician Frank Zappa started recording his first albums.

The right side of the mural depicts the Rancho Cucamonga valley with elements of its history intact, such as the Joseph Filippe winery building, along with signs we expect to see in the future of a prosperous Rancho Cucamonga: smart cars, eco-friendly pedal-powered velodrome vehicles, solar-warmed shopping malls and wind-powered electric generators
